Heads up: We sometimes work with companies to provide affiliate links and reviews - here's what that means. If it's here, we use it. We don't plug shit for profit.

“Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.”

- Dalai Lama

We all have our favourite places, and love to return to them time and time again.

But how about trying somewhere new, even if it's only once a year. Without going into the unknown, you cannot be sure you've found your paradise.

An example: I'd driven the circumference of Australia, from Melbourne to Perth, up to Exmouth and Darwin, down to Alice Springs and back up to Cape Trib before arriving back in Melbourne, nearly a year later.

I bumped into a group who landed in Brisbane and stopped just north, at Rainbow Beach. They had been there for months and said they would spend their whole trip there as it was so perfect. I agree, it's magical, but if they had pushed further north, they would have discovered The Whitsundays.

Take a step into the unknown.

What to Expect

In this part of our blog, we look at everything related to which trip is best for you.

Are you a sit around a hotel pool kinda person? Maybe a week on a beach.

Hell, you might be like us and want to dive into the rainforests, safaris and discover culture that will blow your mind. Are you in it for the partying or the food, the sun or the snow, the architecture or the scenery, the destination or the journey?

Working out who you are and what you enjoy will help you discover what trip is for you.

Similarly, you'll need to discover your pace and whether you enjoy slow or fast travel.

In these blogs, we'll help find the right style of travel for you.

Arriving at your destination is rewarding, but uncovering its hidden gems and tasty treats is unforgettable.

That's why we have more delicious, tantalising destination treats for you.

Below are the other four areas we think you need to know. My personal favourites are the city guides and, whilst not strictly destinations, the blogs from our tales from the road section.

Between them, they cover everything you'll need to travel like a pro and make the best memories.
