Budget Breakdown: 4 Days in Sousse, TunisIa
Last Updated: October 26, 2025
Our Budget Breakdown series shows you the total costs of our trips, giving you an idea of what a similar trip could cost you. Sometimes we're budgeting, sometimes we're balling. Usually, it's somewhere in the middle.
At the time of our trip
3.94 Tunisian Dinar (TND) = £1 • $1.34 • €1.15
Heads up:Â We sometimes work with companies to provide affiliate links and reviews - here's what that means. If it's here, we use it. We don't plug shit for profit.
4 Days In Sousse
Before we dive into this Sousse budget breakdown, we have a
word of warning:
The Tunisian Dinar is a closed currency. If you try to leave the country with any Dinar, they will stop you at the border, and put their fingers, quite literally, in your pocket or wallet and take it.
Ask us how we know.
No one tells you this is the case until you're past the border control. And can't turn back.
If you try to argue, they'll tell you it's a criminal offence and that they could arrest you - but they're being nice.
Similarly, if you try to take more than $1650 USD worth of any other currency in or out of Tunisia, they'll have the excess off you, too.
Sound fair?
Well, it gets worse. They will give you a receipt for the value of the money. However, the only possible way of claiming your money back is to return to Tunisia, and try and claim it back in court. With a solicitor. Who probably isn't no-win-no-fee.
Frankly, the worst part was that the team at Enfinda Airport were smug little bastards about it.
Read on to see how much we lost to this...
This trip was our first together since 2022, so the budget got pushed a little here in the name of fun.
We had a very narrow window to make this trip happen, with Charlie back in the UK from Australia, and Greg's time between his many hustles. Specifically, we were both free from Friday 10th to Monday 13th of October, and we wanted to max that time out. This meant an early flight out, and a late flight back.
Other than that, the brief was simple:
Where's the coolest place we can go from our local airport?
This is how that all shook out...

The Breakdown
Return Flights Bristol to Enfidha - £350. Was this the cheapest possible flight that day? Cheaper flights are available, but as mentioned, we were working to a time frame for this one.
Accommodation - 681.54 TND (£174.49) Again, cheaper places are available, but due to the last-minute call and a push for something kinda plush in the heart of the Medina. It is what it is.
We stayed at a very welcoming and friendly place called Dar Badiaa, which we'd recommend.
